Spring Break, 2024
This is my first post since 2021, and sadly it's because I have not been able to travel since before attending college. This semester, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with my best friends.
This was my last spring break as a college student, so I am so thankful for the beautiful places I got to travel during the break!
FIRST STOP: Klondike Park, Augusta MO
For the first half of my break, I got to go home! During one of the days at home, I got to take my sister's photos for her and her boyfriend. We went to this state park, and while taking their photos I got to sneak in a few of my own :)
Not only was the day beautiful, but the park never ceases to take my breath away. The lake has the clearest water, and is lined with white sand and rock walls. In photos, the sand often gets mistaken for snow because of how white and clean it looks.
I only got a few photos of the landscape, but if you get anything from this gallery, I hope that it is the beautiful natural colors of the water, sand, and plant life.
And apart from this day excursion with my sister and her man, I didn't get many photos from my stay at home, other than a selfie in I took at one of my favorite coffee shops I would go to all the time when I was in high school.
SECOND STOP: Lake Lure, North Carolina
I finally got to cross "road trip with my best friends" off of my bucket list!
Me and my best college pals took a 12hr drive to my friend's hometown, Lake Lure NC. This was a trip we had planned for months prior, and it lived up to the hype.
We started the trip at 4am on a Thursday, and we spent the drive listening to playlist after playlist, sharing snacks and feelings, and taking turns napping in the back seat. I brought my little hot pink digital camera from the early 2000s to take silly little photos in the car. We arrived in the evening in time for dinner, and to see the sunset over the lake.
We were there for two days, and in those two days we thrifted, drank coffee, visited a cutie touristy town, climbed 50ft in the air to hammock in trees (I am afraid of heights, so I will unashamedly admit that I cried once reaching the top), hiked to some water falls, and enjoyed good food and good company.
Here's to more trips in the future!
This is the end of my Spring Break :) I hope to take more trips in the future, and to update this blog more frequently. Until then, thank you for taking a peek inside my trip!
